Grantsville ended a 6-game losing streak and started off region play on the right foot by beating Bear River 10-3. Benji Cole got the nod on the hill for the Cowboys and threw a complete game 3-hitter recording 9 strikeouts to get the league season started on the right track. Grantsville exploded for 8 runs in the bottom of the third inning to take control of the game. Tyson Hutchins got the scoring started with an RBI single. Kort Fonger forced in a run with a walk. The scoring continued as Taylor Matthews laced a 2-run single and Jake Clonts blasted a 2-run double. Grantsville tacked on 2 more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth on a 2-run double by Jake Campbell and then held Bear River at bay in the seventh to secure the win.
Action continues for the Cowboys as they are scheduled to host Morgan at Cowboy field, with the first pitch scheduled to be thrown at 3:30. Come on out to the ballpark and help the Cowboys start another kind of streak.
