In Heber City the Wasatch Wasps celebrated their new ball park as they cooled down the Cowboys and took a 7-4 victory.
Some key errors by Grantsville helped the Wasps account for 4 of their runs on the day and enabled them to take the victory.
Kort Fonger started on the mound and went 4 innings allowing 5 runs. Kellan Rhoades came in to pitch the 5th and 6th innings. He threw well and only allowed 2 runs, both aided by defensive miscues.
Offensively Grantsville was led by Tyson Hutchins, who had 3 hits, including a triple, on the day and drove in 3 runs. Taylor Matthews also had a lead off double in the 4th inning but was stranded as Wasp pitcher, Jordan Bristow struck out the side to end the threat.
The Cowboys JV will host the West Wendover varsity baseball team tomorrow (Saturday March 27). Game time is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
