The Cowboys traveled to Garland and were able to avenge their only league loss in a 5-1 victory over the Bear River Bears.
Grantsville continued their trend of starting fast as they put up 3 runs in the first inning. Tyson Hutchins scored on a double steal to get things started. Later in the inning Derek Jensen scored on a Lincoln Kelley sacrifice fly and then Connor Turner came up with a key 2 out rbi single to spot the Cowboys a 3-0 lead.
Grantsville put up 2 more runs in the 4th with Andrew Nelson and Kort Fonger coming up with rbi singles.
Offensively Nelson & Kelbey Fisher led the way with 2 hits each.
Nelson was dominant on the bump for the Cowboys. He had the Bears trapped all day long going the distance allowing 2 hits, striking out 8 and allowing only 1 unearned run.
The win puts Grantsville in 2nd place in the Region 11 standings. The Cowboys will next take the field on Tuesday in Morgan in another key region battle.
