Grantsville took the field for the third game this week and defeated the Delta Rabbits 7-6. A 2-run double off the bat of Tyson Hutchins in the bottom of the sixth provided the margin of victory for Grantsville.
The Cowboys started fast in this one again and put up 3 runs in the first inning. A long sacrifice fly by Andrew Nelson scored Lincoln Kelley and then Kort Fonger & Jacob Campbell added rbi singles. In the second inning Dalen Erickson doubled and speed up runner Kelbey Fisher scored on a Tyson Hutchins rbi-single to spot Grantsville a 4-0 lead.
After Delta cut the lead to 4-3, the Cowboys put up one more run in the 4th when Kelley reached on a fielders choice, stole second and scored on a Hutchins triple.
After Delta hitters drew back to back walks to open the sixth inning, Kayden Hughes came to the plate and delivered a 3-run HR to give the Rabbits their first lead of the game 6-5.
The lead was short lived as Jason Arbon & Kelley scored on Hutchins 2-run double to give the Cowboys all they would need for the victory.
Erickson got the nod on the hill and went 5 strong innings. Jeff Hunt came on in the sixth and picked up the win and Kellan Rhoades came in and slammed the door shut in the seventh to pick up his second save in as many days.
The Cowboys will complete their major league type week as they host the Bear River Bears in a key Region 11 affair. First pitch is set for 3:30, come on out and support your Cowboys.
