Grantsville took on rival Morgan at home and came away with a 7-5 victory to even their Region 11 record at 1-1 while dropping Morgan to 1-2 in league action.
The Cowboys got on the board in the 4th inning as Lincoln Kelley came through with a key 2 out RBI single to score Bridger Boman. They took the lead for good in the 5th on a 2-run single by Connor Turner, a sacrifice fly by Boman and 2-out RBI single by Kelbey Fisher. They would tack on 2 more runs in the 6th on RBI singles by Turner & Kelby Landon.
Andrew Nelson led the Cowboys 14 hit attack by recording 3 hits including a double while Kelley, Turner, Landon, & Fisher each recorded 2 safeties.
Nelson got the start & went the distance on the mound striking out 10 to pick up the win.
The Cowboys are scheduled to be back in action on Thursday at Ben Lomond HS and then step out of league to take on Davis HS in Kaysville.
