Sponsorship

As I've explained in years past, we just don't receive enough funding from the school to cover the yearly costs associated with our program. Some of the necessary costs include: entry fee & motel costs to travel to the St George Tournament, practice balls, game balls, uniform needs (pants & hats), UHSBCA dues, chalk/paint for field, scorebooks, line up cards, equipment, etc. As you can see the costs continue to add up.

In years past we have sent out letters to local businesses asking for donations. In return we have agreed to hang a banner on our outfield fence. As in years past we need every player to raise at least $150 in order for the program to function year to year. In order to satisfy this requirement we are asking every player to find SPONSOR(S) to satisfy this requirement. We appreciate any help you as the parents/boosters can provide. We have big dreams, but unfortunately most of them take financial support.

The course of action would be to hand-deliver a letter and explain what the team is trying to accomplish. Then to follow up with a phone call. It is always better to do a little research and find an actual NAME of someone in the company vs. using "To whom it may concern".

We are currently working on a letter for you to use in obtaining sponsors. It will be available to you within the next week or so. There will be 3-4 levels of sponsorship for the businesses to choose from. It will be set up so that each player will need to get 1 or 2 sponsors to satisfy the requirement. We hope this will allow every business to participate in some way.

The sooner we take action on this, the easier it will be. Once the new year begins they will all be pelted with requests. Our hope is to make contact with them before then.

We are asking you to contact Coach Anderson or leave your choice in the comment section so that we know which business (or businesses) you will be approaching. We don't want more than one player approaching each establishment. This will help us all in making our decisions.

If you feel you can get more than one sponsor, that would be EXCELLENT. The more sponsorship we can obtain, the more improvements we can make to our program. Below is a list of possible sponsors to choose from.

Someone may want to ask Jeannine Butler (Wayne's wife) for Century 21, I am sure she would be more than willing.

Is the letter available for the boys?

The letter is ready. The can pick it up at practice. They need to go through me to request a business to contact. I don't want a bunch of kids going to the same place. If some of them need help, I have a few contacts from the past. I want to encourage them to get this done in February so we can get the banners made. Once March hits we get into the season fast & furious.
